PASTOR DAN & BRENDA HOPKINS

Pastor Dan grew up in Modesto, California.  He graduated from Pt. Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, CA with a B.A. in religion and later received a Masters of Pastoral Leadership from Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, Illinois.  Dan Pastored churches in California, Oregon and Missouri.  In 2006, Dan received a call to be a missionary.  Dan and Brenda served in Dominica, an English-speaking-island in the Caribbean.  While there, Dan trained ministers, planted churches and supervised the construction of Ocean View Nazarene Retreat Center.  He later became District Superintendent of the new Dominica District of the Church of the Nazarene.  Upon returning home in 2014, Dan served on staff at Faith Community Church of the Nazarene in Lodi, CA, where he started Faith Community School of the Bible and Ministry.  Dan taught 20 different classes to over 350 students.  In 2023, Dan received a call to Placerville Church of the Nazarene. 

Brenda was born in San Diego and grew up in Hawaii from the age of 5 until she graduated from High School.  Brenda attended Pt. Loma Nazarene University, where she met Dan.  Brenda felt called of God to pursue children’s ministry.  She served as Children’s Pastor at Eastridge Church of the Nazarene in Modesto, CA for 10 years.  While serving with her husband in Dominica, she developed children’s ministries in Dominica and she trained leaders in children’s quizzing in Antigua, St Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands and Dominica.  Brenda is an ordained Deacon in the Church of the Nazarene.

Dan and Brenda enjoy travel, gardening and are proud fans of the San Francisco Giants, the San Francisco 49ers and the Golden State Warriors.
